I am a San Francisco-based writer, artist, photographer, graphic designer, and teacher. In addition to being the author of the book Kaleidoscpe~Artistic Techniques for the Creative Soul, I am also the creator of a line of inspirational greeting cards called “elisabeth’s garden” all of which beautifully reflect nature’s invitation to nurture the soul.
My “professional career” began over twenty-five years ago teaching art to kindergarteners, in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic. In 1994, I began to produce original mixed-media art pieces as a means of self-discovery. With this shift in focus, away from the busyness of the outer world to the creativity of the inner world, I discovered a new perspective from which to view the world. It was over the course over the next several years that I experimented with a wide range of artistic techniques which eventually led me to the realm of photography.
My most recent photographic work highlights the amazing sights I’ve encountered while sailing a thirty-five boat around the islands of Tahiti, Greece, Croatia, the British Virgin Islands, and Desolation Sound in British Columbia. Taking the time to “see photographically,” I notice the intricate details that create the whole—the lines, textures, patterns, colors and light—all of which add to beauty’s essence. Capturing that moment in time and infusing it with my own inner vision, I am able to reveal its true expression.
